Ariane Froidevaux

Assistant Professor of Management

Dr. Ariane Froidevaux (pronounce Frōdvô) is Assistant Professor of Management. Her research interests include career transitions, retirement and aging in the workplace, and identity negotiation.

Her work appears in outlets such as Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Vocational Behavior, Organizational Psychology Review, Work Aging and Retirement, Research on Aging, and Journal of Career Assessment.

The innovation of her research has been recognized by the Eunice and James L. West Distinguished Professorship fellowship (2020-2021), 4 awards and a finalist award delivered by the Academy of Management Careers Division (2015, 2016), the European Society for Vocational Designing and Career Counseling (2017), and the University of Lausanne (2012, 2017), as well as a $185,000 grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation (2016, 2018).

She received her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Lausanne in Switzerland, then was a postdoctoral researcher in Management at the University of Florida.

Dr. Froidevaux has taught courses in human resource management, organizational behavior, and career development at the undergraduate and graduate levels; and has five years of part-time industry experience in career counseling.

She served as a Representative-at-large for the Executive Board of the Academy of Management Careers Division (2017-2020) and is currently a member of the Journal of Vocational Behavior and of Work, Aging and Retirement Editorial Boards.
