Yseult Freeney
Full Professor of Organisational Psychology
Yseult Freeney is a Full Professor of Organisational Psychology in DCU Business School and Research Director of the Irish Institute for Digital Business. She is also a Research Fellow of the DCU Anti-Bullying Centre and an associate of the international Transitions Research Group network of scholars. She completed her PhD in Psychology in University College Dublin as a UCD Scholar and was subsequently awarded an IRC Postdoctoral Research Fellowship. Her research agenda is driven by a passionate interest in the well-being of employees and in helping them to thrive at work, particularly through positive relationships. Her research contributes to understanding how organisations can foster sustainable work engagement and work- life enrichment for employees against a backdrop of increasing work intensification. Yseult, together with her colleague Prof. Edel Conway, designed the Civil Service Employee Engagement Survey and is the co-author of ‘Shaping the Future of Work in the Civil Service in Ireland’. In line with her expertise in the area, Yseult Freeney’s publications to date include Organization Science, Human Relations, Harvard Business Review, Public Management Review, Human Resource Management Journal, International Journal of Nursing Studies, Learning and Individual Differences. Yseult has won awards for her excellence in teaching, winning the DCU President’s Excellence in Teaching Award while she was awarded a regional teaching fellowship by the Dublin Region Higher Education Alliance. She is committed to excellence in teaching, in particular, in creating curricula that foster work-ready, agile graduates who can thrive in an unscripted future workplace.
